Super Green Spirulina Smoothie

Kira, personal trainer at MotivatePT has created a lovely smoothy using banana, coconut milk and our among other things. YUM!

Smoothies seem to be the go-to pre/post workout snack, but are they really that healthy? Most smoothies you buy from from a shop contain refined sugars, preservatives and additives – the preserving methods are likely to have zapped most of the nutrients out of the smoothie making it a not so healthy option. Making one at home out of fresh ingredients, including vegetables and super greens is a totally different story! This Super Green Spirulina Smoothie is a great way to start your health kick. The spirulina powder is a potent superfood containing rich protein, amino acids, vitamins. This smoothie will give you the nutrients you need to get through those high intensity workouts.
 1 medium ripe banana
 ½ cup sliced cucumber
 ¾ -1 light coconut milk
 1 cup spinach or kale
 1 tsp Marvellous Superfood Spirulina
 1 tbsp hemp seeds
1. In the blender, add the frozen banana, cucumber, coconut milk, spinach/kale, spirulina
and hemp seeds.
2. Blend until creamy and smooth.
3. Serve immediately and enjoy!
